Will's 2nd Birthday

Will's 2nd Birthday

Will's 2nd Birthday

Check out the photos from Will's birthday week. On Monday my parents and brother took the kids to Deanna Rose Farmstead, Will got to pet goats, horses and cows. He played on the playground and had a great time! The weather was overcast on his actual birthday, so Billy and I took the kids on their first outing to Toys R Us. Will picked out a toy, and that evening my parents and brother came over for dinner. Will had his first twinkie! Saturday we hosted the entire family, and he had a great time! Thank you to all who came, and thank you for the presents, Will is a very lucky little boy!

El Destructor

Will has been renamed El Destructor. It's easy to find him in the house, just follow the trail of towels on the floor, flash cards, crayons, and whatever he can reach in the drawers. I am constantly missing my makeup brushes and we keep finding napkins in Alex's pack and play! I give up trying to keep the house picked up, the minute I get one corner cleaned up, another one is destroyed. He loves helping with the laundry, he tends to throw it on the stairs!

Erin's Baby Shower

Erin's baby shower was yesterday at our house. We had a great time seeing family and meeting new friends. It was the first time Alex had met her 2nd cousins, Erin and Colleen! Erin and I are 12 years apart, but our daughters will be about 6 months apart! I've posted pictures from the shower here.

A spring full of firsts

Sorry it's been so long since an update, we've been pretty busy! Alex turns 3 months old on June 3rd, she is growing so fast. We've had lots of "firsts" from Alex, first smile, first giggle, and now she's laughing out loud. She teases us by sleeping thru the night one night, and then waking up the next night. Will had his "first" real haircut (he had a trim, but we kept the curls until now), and now his little boy curls are gone! Will has already been kissed by a girl, Ava, our next door neighbor, likes to come over and give Will kisses. The last time she did it she fell on him, so now he's scared of her. Will's vocabulary is growing every day, he imitates a lot of animal sounds, and imitates his daddy saying "Magnum, easy!" He definitely knows what he is saying, even if we don't. He has a little boy's dream backyard, with a deluxe swing set, sand box, water table, a basketball court and his own table and chair set on the deck.

Billy's been busy with outside projects, he power washed and stained the play set, and had playground mulch spread underneath it. He cleared out an herb garden for me, and is busy planting, trimming, and mowing.

I am back at work and trying to get into the swing of things. I would really rather hang out with the kids!

Update on Baby Girl

Baby Girl is apparently thriving in her home, we had a sonogram on Monday where they were estimating her to be 7lb, 15 oz, and I'm supposedly only 35 more weeks! That's still a couple more pounds she could gain before my due date of March 22nd. At that sonogram, there was some type of fetal anomoly showing up in her pelvic region, so Billy and I went to the hospital on Tuesday and had a Level II sonogram and met with a perionatologist. It looks like she has some type of ovarian cyst, it's not vascular, and not connected to any organs. All major organs are working just fine. Her head is measuring big (thanks honey!), as is her belly, but they are still proportionate to each other. She is currently measuring more like she's 38 gestaional weeks, instead of 35. In addition, my amniotic fluid index is at 29, which is very high. This explains why (1) I am huge, and (2) I am so uncomfortable.

I have another doctor's appointment on Monday, Feb 23rd where we will come up with a plan regarding delivery options and if/when I will be induced.

We are looking forward to 2009

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! It's hard to believe it's 2009, and the newest member of our family will be here in about 11 weeks. She still doesn't have a name (although it will be kept secret once she has one), but she does have a crib, thanks to Bo & Cody Youngblood. We decided to borrow one, and once Will is ready for big boy furniture, we will move his crib and furniture into her room.

January's home project will be getting her room in order. Billy gets to play with his miter saw by putting up a chair rail, and we are going to paint the upper portion a lighter green than what's in the room now. We'll move the rocking chair from Will's room into the baby's room. My parents gave me the rocking chair that was in my room, and we are contemplating painting it, and putting cushions in it for Will's room.

2008 was a great year for the Vintons! We got into the swing of being parents, found out we're going to be parents again, were able to sell our duplex without any complications, and found a home that we are very comfortable in.

We invite all of you to come and see our new home and visit our family!
