The Vinton Family hopes everyone had a great new year! This was the first time in 11 years that we stayed home and celebrated with our little family. Alex was asleep by 7:30 and Will was asleep by 8:00. (Amy fell asleep at about 11 on the couch!) Billy has been using his "time off" by enhancing his culinary and baking skills (yes, baking, he's made cookies, orejas, a trifle, you name it!) and he made a brie fondue with carmelized onions. We ate every bit of it and washed it down with some champagne.
I have moved my offices home as of Jan 1st, which made for a busy holiday season. A special thanks to Tom, Andy and Tyler for helping me move while on vacation! We greatly appreciate your help. So far, I am greatly enjoying it. I've definitely felt that "mommy guilt" over the past 2 years, feeling the push to be at the office when I'm at home, and wanting to be at home while I"m at the office. Hopefully this will help ease some of that burden. I am meeting with clients at the Johnson County Bar Association Offices, which offers free conference rooms to their members, and they conference rooms are right across the street from the courthouse and beautiful!
The kids had a great Christmas, and we have thoroughly enjoyed playing with all of their toys! Will even has his "own" computer now, Billy fixed up one of our older computers for him, complete with his own mouse and speakers.
Will started Parents Day out on Jan 5th, I think it was much more traumatic for mommy than it was for Will! He was so excited when we walked into "school." He walked right into his room and started playing, and never looked back. Mommy was a mess all day. Billy picked him up, and said he was sitting in his chair listening intently to the story when he got there. He was quiet all the way home, but had a big smile on his face, and fell asleep for over 2 hours when he got home! We are excited he's starting "school", and look forward to watching him grow!
Alex is 10 months old, and finally cut her first tooth the day after Christmas. At her 9 month doctor visit, she was 30 inches long and 23.6 lbs, off the charts for both weight and length. She is wearing 18 month clothes, and is loving learning how to self-feed. Watch out when you give her a cracker!
We wish all of you could be close, we miss you all, and hope you had a great New Year!
